Years 6 through 8

I haven't been able to work on my site as we have been having issues with the server. A lot has happened since my 5 year update.

My newest grandson was born Jan 27th 2006. Jarod Anthony. He really is something. This gives me 6 grandchildren.Wonderful!

My dad also died in October 2008. He was 88. I will miss him terribly.

My health has been fairly stable. I did get pneumonia in 2007 that really took the wind out of my sails. I dropped me down to 17% lung function. I have recovered back to 25% and have held steady since then. I have also been in chronic rejection for three years and docs are quite taken that I am not loosing more lung function. I believe the good Lord is taking care of me.

I am still able to work full time from home for the same company I have been with all through my transplant and before. I work 8 hour days Monday thru Friday and am off every weekend and most holidays.
God has truly blessed me.

I have made a life decision about my lung transplant. I am now 61 and if I can qualify for a second transplant the wait is averaging 3 years. That puts me at 64 and the cut off age is 65. There is also the possibility I would have to have a kidney transplant as well due to the anti-rejection drugs having to be a full strength again. After 8 years these drugs have taken their toll on other organs (kidneys) although every test I have had so my kidney function as good. The next issue is my weight. I have to get to a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 31. Mine is 38.  I will have to loose 60 pounds to be able to qualify for another transplant.

So I have been looking into stem cells for sometime now and believe this is the way I should go. I believe stem cells will give me the best chance for survival for a much longer time. Does not change the fact I have to loose weight just so I can breathe better.

As always I feel blessed to just be here and still alive. I will endeavor to keep the site caught up more with my updates especially with the stem cells. We will be moving the site to another server soon so look forward to a move soon. My son will be helping me get things in order for the move to another server.

Charlotte and I have found a wonderful Bible church to go to just down the road from our townhouse. It has been a great experience and the people are wonderful and we have made some lifetime friends. They helped out a lot when I got sick.

God Bless and always remember to
